- Editor's Notes
- In response to your letter, I have no objection to sharing expenses directly attendant upon the exhibition of the phonograph and believe I should have control of that expenditure. I presume that whatever is done with the phonograph on that occasion will be under my direction. I do not feel competent to make suggestions but when I go to Paris soon I will be further informed and be able to consider your request. Other things I have thought of: First, to have constant phonogramic communications passing between London and Paris from London at the exhibition by every mail so that people could see the actual phonogram mails coming in, opened, and hear them. It would show the enormous practical value the new and coming system of communication has. Second, if the portable phonograph is ready, I should mount tricycle messengers in uniform flying all over Paris and London delivering these communications and interpreting them.
