- Title

- Editor's Notes
- My father is intending to exhibit the "Thorn Type Setting and Distribution Machine" in Paris and I venture to ask if it will be agreeable to you to allot his syndicate sufficient space to demonstrate the practical value of the electrical motor and commercial utility of the phonograph. The "Thorn Machine" has profitably met the stern requirements of newspaper work and is recognized to have solved the problem of setting type by machinery. Enclosed are some documents about the "Thorn" and if you feel disposed to favorably consider this proposition please cable at my expense and state what the cost will be. If you do not care to grant the space, please cable "no." # Marginalia says answered 3/5/89
