Title
[D8947AAB], Letter from Ezra Torrance Gilliland to Alfred Ord Tate, January 4th, 1889
Editor's Notes
I enclose a report from William E. Hibble, the man in charge of the Florida property. His first year ended May 1, 1888. He is owed 8 months salary from May 1, 1888 to January 1, 1889 at $50 per month and a balance from the previous year of $68.59, totaling $468.59. One-third of all his salary from May 1, 1887 to January 1, 1889 (totaling $1000) should be paid by me ($333.34), in addition to which he has disbursed on my account $236.46, making a total of $569.80. I have paid him during that time $825. I have notified Hibble that the accounts would be separated in the future and that he should look to Edison for balance due and his regular salary thereafter. If Edison doesn't object, Hibble can continue to look after my place and I will pay him one-third of his salary. According to Hibble's statement, Edison owes him $723.79.
