Title
[D8947AAN], Letter from William E Hibble to Thomas Alva Edison, February 28th, 1889
Editor's Notes
Your favor of 19 inst received with cheque for $100. I have paid the State and County taxes which are increased to $120.80 formerly $84 on inquiring the reason for the extra was informed by the collector that the personal property was assessed last year which previously had been omitted. Gilliland sent down his one-third i.e. $28 thinking the taxes would be the same. I have written him and he will remit the balance and if you desire I will have the assessor make a division. Received a letter from Mr. Schultz of Punta Rassa stating he had a dispatch from you loaning or selling him the extra joint of smoke stack. I would suggest selling it as when another stack is needed it would be best to have it all new. If you desire I will collect the bill if you can give my the price in NY. Perhaps it would be more correct to ascertain the freight from there to Myers and add to the bill. # Marginalia says answered 3/21/89
