- Your favor of the 17 inst only received. I am sorry I have not been sufficiently explicit but I understand that Mr. Edison's business and all of his affairs are entirely separate, independent, and in every way apart from Mr. Gilliland's and the material sent for will be used on Mr. Edison's premises alone i.e. his dwelling houses, laboratory, store house, old house, and his part of the fence. # Marginalia says "the chart of 'House and Villa' paints is in Mr. Tate's office - M."
