Editor's Notes

"Having received from Mr Henry Villard of New York a letter suggesting that I might put myself in communication with you about the Lorraine Ironworks in which I am interested I wired you as follows: 'Received letter from Henry Villard informing me that you are willing to visit Lorraine Ironworks near Metz. Please let me know when you are ready to leave Paris on your way to Germany so that I can meet you at Metz. I shall be glad to see you in Frankfort and put myself entirely at your disposal during your stay in Germany. Address telegrams Stern Frankfort main.' ## Supposing that you have duly received this telegram and hoping to get an ealry answer, I enclose copy of Mr Villard's letter."
