Editor's Notes
Your Private [Secretary?], of 19th ult., in answer to mine of the 15th came duly to hand. I will send you by express on Monday next a keg of iron ore which I wish to have treated by your magnetic separator. This is marked as coming from me, so that you can readily identify it.##Will you kindly pay the express charges, which I will refund. I cannot coneniently learn what they are here.##I expect to be in New York all of next week after Monday and will go out to Ornge to see the ore run through. Please do not crush or separate the ore until I see you about it.##From what I have been able to learn about the construction of your separator, I have great hopes that it will be able to make a complete separation of this ore which is highly magnetic. [marginal note Received Jany 9/89 H.?M. No express charges on this]
