- [from Sunbury, PA] "Your kind favor of 2nd inst received in relation to phosphoric rock and contents noted. As suggested by Mr Edison in your letter, I have to day sent you several samples of the rock for examination and have marked it as coming from me to identify it as you suggested. If upon examination you find that you can seperate the oxide of iron from the phosphoric acid and other [illeg] parts, please let me hear from you on the subect at once, giving price of your Electric machine, terms and the amount of royalty if any on this elecrtrical invention, I would be very much obliged to you if you would give this matter prompt atttention as I may be obliged to leave here for some time about the 15th inst."
