- [D8955ADS], Letter from L L (Mrs F.) Maclennan to Thomas Alva Edison, November 26th, 1889
- Editor's Notes
- Maclennan writes to Edison that he had heard of his wonderful invention the Phonograph and wanted to know how large the instrument was and the price of one and if it could it be used to produce music which had been played into it. They live in a poor town with a little church and she's thought about it over the year and thinks the price of the Phonograph is beyond her means but she has mentioned it to her husband twice but never anyone else she knows they wouldn't make an effort to try to obtain such an instrument. And she had a few questions, but doesn't know anyone that can give her the information she wants so she asks Edison himself.
