"One year ago, Mrs. Mary Hemenway purchased 150 shares of the Edison Phonograph Co. Since that time she has received no information, official or otherwise, as to the status or prospectus of the company - I write on her behalf to ask for such information and for any printed matter you may have referring to the company even if earlier in date than her purchase, as we have no information as to the Capital Stock or otherwise of the company - Can you also inform us as to the price at [---] stock has been recently bought and sold - In short we are absolutely ignorant of the status of the Company & of the stock and hope you will kindly give us some light on the subject."
