Title

[D8956ABA], Letter from Sherburne Blake Eaton to Alfred Ord Tate, November 6th, 1889

Editor's Notes

Replying to your favor of yesterday asking what is the date of the annual meeting of the Edison Phonograph Co, I beg to say it should be held on the first Monday in October each year. No annual meeting was helf for three years, but we had a special meeting on July 1, 1889. Under the agreement between Mr. Edison, Mr. Lippincott, and the North American Phonograph Company, Mr. Edison can vote on the stock held by him as collateral security. If you wish a meeting held now, I will attend to all the details. Please send me a list of stockholders and the number of shares held by each. I should add that it is not necessary to hold a meeting unless you particularly desire it. Under the by-laws existing directors hold over.
