- Referring to TAE's reply on 23 Jan. last to the Department's letter of the preceding day; includes a translated extract from the Postal Administration of Germany from 23 ult.; German Post Office wants a new phonograph for its museum and had written TAE on Jan. 25 to get one; he referred them to Gouraud but he hasn't procured a phonograph for them so far; TAE, though, has sent phonographs directly to various institutions in Berlin, including the Physico-technical Institution and the Urania; asks U.S. Post Officee to intervene with TAE and encloses catalogue of the museum; U.S. Post Office asks TAE to inform them of what action he will take in the matter.
