Title
[D8959ACK], Telegram from Alfred Ord Tate to Samuel Insull, July 18th, 1889
Editor's Notes
"Understand perfectly what Insull told Seligman. My interpretation is that mistatements made Gouraud simply to reduce his estimate of values, and if Gouraud named price for both interest Seligman would consider two thirds of it as cost of buying out Gouraud, then attempt to negotiate again with Edison. Better let matter rest until you receive my letter mailed yesterday and others Saturday next. Making exhaustive investigation, have not found yet that Gouraud negotiating with others. He has read ‘La Nature’. Knows thoroughly opposition status. Wire name Gilliland’s steamer."
