Title
[D8962AAY], Letter from Jesse H Lippincott to Alfred Ord Tate, November 1st, 1889
Editor's Notes
[Lathrop commission] Your favor of October 21st to Samuel Insull, enclosing letter from Reginald Gray, has been referred to the writer. My understanding of this transaction is that Mrs. Hemenway paid $22,500. for 150 shares of the Edison Phonograph Co’s stock. Is this correct? If so, how much of this did Mr. Edison receive and how much did Mr. Lathrop get? I have been informed that Mr. Edison’s proportion was par for the stock, that is $15,000. and Mr. Lathrop’s $7500. Is this correct? If so, did the check for full amount come to Mr. Edison and did he pay Mr. Lathrop? ### I wish to be posted on all points connected with this transaction, as I intend to take the matter up at once and endeavor to obtain the stock now held by Mrs. Hemenway. I shall not use the information you give me, but simply want it so that I may be fully posted.
