Title
[D8963ABH], Letter from New York Phonograph Co, Richard Townley Haines to North American Phonograph Co, October 11th, 1889
Editor's Notes
"We receive a good many complaints regarding the Edison No. 1 Battery; the following from our Agent in Rochester, is a sample.### "In regard to the hundred hour battery about which you wrote me on the 3rd.,inst, I can simply say that none of them have worked even when they were new. The Mr. Riley sent here by the Edison Phonograph Co., set up a new battery when they first came in and he was unable to make them go, so that their not going is not due to want of cleaning or anything of the kind. I set up a battery myself the day before yesterday, was very careful in every way, and after running a half hour or so it stopped and has not tun since, and Mr. Wilson of Buffalo writes me that he is having the same trouble ." ### What would you advise in such cases?"
