Editor's Notes
"Your statement dated Oct. 1st. Is at hand. With reference thereto we desire to state that the batteries have not met their guarantee. They have both failed several times after use of not longer than three of four days, and we have not touched them at all they having been set up and charged by an employee of the Edison Manufacturing company each time. We quote from a letter received from them Sept. 23rd. As follows. "We can not guarantee that this battery will run one hundred hours if it is only worked twenty or thirty minutes a day when our estimate is based upon the battery being used on an average of four hours a day". Now we can not insist that our customers should use their Phonograph four hours a day, and unless the batteries will fulfill their guaranteed time of one hundred hours, they are practically useless to us. Put experience has been such that we would much prefer to return them. We are not using them now at all Let us be ([–]) from you and oblige."([marg.:UNCLEAR])
