Title

[D8963ABL], Letter from Tennessee Phonograph Co, W T Ross to Thomas Alva Edison, December 25th, 1889

Editor's Notes

We have the new Phonograph, and have quite an important (scientific) exhibition to make in a very short time and it is to the interest of the Phonograph, that we have a Cylinder that is Dictated by you, and we will presume to insist that you send the same at once.##I have written you several times for this, and hope you will not think me presistent, but in this case, I am bound to appear so.##Don’t let any of the Boys put "Pebbles" in their mouth and imitate you (as has so often been done).but send the genuine article, as I will surely know the difference, and should any thing of the kind occur, it would do me no good whatever, as I ([--]) not to use it.##We hope to make the New Machine a great success, as we are pushing ONLY the Phonograph.##I have sent the N.A.P.Co. An order for one half doz of the New Musical Cylinders for the New Phono, and I would be glad if Walter would select something very loud and distinct as this is for the Bank of Comerce, where there are several of your good friends, and at that place the Machine will only be shown-using the 14 inch Tin Horn. I cannot get them to use it otherwise.and it is a place where I shall get many good orders.
