- Editor's Notes
- My dear Mr Tate. Your favor of Nov. 30 has just been received. Thanks for the same.##I am very glad, Mr Edison likes the verses--or thinks they can be of use.##After reading your note, I have been looking at them again, to see how I like them myself!##I hate a repetition--& so beg you will substitute the No 2. I sent now, for the one you have already sent to your "Temple of Elocution." I put a cross at the words I have changed; "daily with Kisses for" with fondest Kisses"-- I lik this last better-- because the "daily" comes to close, to "daily" again, in the next line!##Kindly destroy the number 2. I sent first, keeping this in its place.##I find people are going to the Toy stores here, asking for the Edison doll, & being told "they will not probably be on the maket before Christmas"--then they buy the dolls already on hand, without waiting-- I hope the works will be able to send these dancing out into the world with voices to speak for themselves, very soon! Please tell Mr Edison this last, with kindest regards to you both, very truly yours J. T. Spalding
