Business of importance will prevent my coming out to the works today. I wrote to the company last evening giving the result of our interview yesterday and informing them tha they could have implicit trust in your revising the cost, also stated that Mr. Edison would make a more formal reply to Mr. Stevens' letter giving a more definite idea of what the advanced cost would be. If Mr. Edison has returned, will you kindly hand the bearer his answer so that I may becoe acquainted with its contents and I will at once forward it to the company.
