[Letterhead of A.B. Dick Company] Chicago, Oct. 6, 1892. Mr. A.O. Tate, C/o. Mr. T.A. Edison Orange, N.J. My dear Tate: I have your favor of the 4th inst. and note also the letter received from Mr. Edison in reference to the Phone graph business. I am well satisfied to keep out of the Phonograph business if there is nothing in it for me, as my present business takes up a good share of the time, and I cannot with-hold my attention from it without sacrificing some of the profits. I do not know exactly when I will be in New York again, but probably not before the first of the year. Very yours truly, <A.B. Dick>
