Mr. Thomas Edison,

<Edison marginalia: I do not want to say anything for publication I am still looking up matters in NC>
Dear Sir:-
Enclosed we hand you a couple of clippings taken from the newspaper published at Charlotte, N.C. If there are any points of interest concerning your contemplated trip to North Carolina that you care to have published in industrial journals, especially electrical and iron papers, we would be under many obligations to you if you would kindly communicate such facts to us through your secretary.
May we ask if it is gold that you propose to experiment with, or if it is not to continue the iron experiments that you have already commenced with such success in the Northern part of New Jersey.
The industrial world is naturally interested in every move you make, and we would be highly gratified to be the humble means of communicating information regarding your movements to the industrial workers of the country. Trusting we may have the honor of an early reply, we are,
Very truly yours.
