Newark, N.J. May 5, 1892 Thomas A. Edison Esq Dear Sir, Some time since I was appointed administrator of the estate of the late Henrietta Teachman sister of Mrs. Mary J. Gill. I have about closed up the estate and Mrs. Gill is very much in need of money and I have none to give her. I advanced her all I could over a year ago and wish I had more to assist her with. She came to see me this A.M. and mentioned your name as one who might possibly assist her. It seems to me that if you could do so that it would be doing a good act to one who from my observation is worthy of anything you might do fir her. I have taken the liberty to write you and hope you will not think me too presumptuous but class it under the head of "humanity" I am sir with respect, Yours truly, De P. Lozier
