Mr. Paul Martinez, No.2 rue Pilando, ABNIERES, France Dear Sir: Please pardon the delay which has occurred in replying to your letter of the 21st of April last, which delay was unavoidable, owing to my absence from home. Any statements concerning me of the character you recite, are absolutely false. I would be the last person in the world to contribute the slightest aid to an enemy of the France Republic.
