July 13, 1892. John Birkinbine, Esq., No. 25 N.R. City Hall Square, Philadelphia, Pa. My dear Sir: I have been absent almost continuously since the receipt of your letter of 8th ultimo. I showed your communication to Mr. Edison and he asked me to assure you that he has never changed nor had any reason to change the high opinion which he has of you personally and professionally. He says that as soon as he has things in shape at Ogden he wants to have you pay him a visit there. They are making some additions to the plant, which will be completed before very long, at which time he will communicate with you. Yours very truly, Private Secretary.
