July 15, 1892.
Mr. Arthur H. Osborne,
Collector of Taxes,

193 Main St., Belleville, N. J.
Dear Sir:-
There has been received at this office a printed notice in regard to the sale of certain lands, tenements, real estate etc. in the township of Belleville on the 30th day of the present month, for non-payment of taxes, included among which is some property owned by Mr. Edison.
Mr. Edison is ready and willing to pay any taxes that may be due on the property in question, but he has never received any notice or bill of [some?]; hence their non-payment. Will you very kindly send to Mr. Edison without delay a bill of the taxes which are now due, and he will be very glad to send you a check for the amount. Your prompt compliance with this request will be appreciated.
Yours truly,
Private Secretary.
