August 3, 1892 Dear Mr. Tate,- I return herewith your letter re the Buten Co., upon which Mr. Edison penciled his remarks. Mr. Edison after reading your letter re the Automatic Co. endorsed upon it the following: “Butler: You better see Russell and explain this, and if Brush in town, and go get his instructions just how Russell should act.” The letter was on its way to Butler within half an hour of its receipt. I sent it in by special messenger, and also notified Butler by telephone. Yours very truly,
