Edward Ford Box 6, Salem, Mass Dear Master Ford,- Replying to your letter of 15th instant, I regret to say that Mr. Edison is unable to recommend to you any instrument the use of which would improve your sense of hearing. He has never used any of the numerous devices that have been designed for the relief of deafness, and cannot therefore give you any information concerning them. Yours very truly, Private Secretary
