Sept. 10, 1892
Mr. J. W. Gladstone, Edison Manufacturing Co., Orange, N.J.
Dear Sir:-
You mentioned to me on Friday that you were going to introduce a carbon pencil resistance into the "M" Cautery Battery. Please get me two or three of these pencils and send them to me at the New York Office.
Mr. Edison has invited members of the American Electro-Therapeutic Association to come to Orange on the afternoon of October 5th next. They will take the 1:25 train from 23rd St. on the Erie. I wish you would see the Erie people and ascertain if they would put on a special car for these members; there will be about 50 of them. I do not want to pay for the car and I think the Erie people will furnish it free of cost. If they decline to furnish it free find out what they will charge for it.
Yours truly,
