Sept. 12, 1892. Albert E. Maltby, Oswego, N.Y. Dear Sir:- With reference to your letter to Mr. Edison of 7th instant, your understanding that young men are admitted to the Schenectady Works of the Edison General Electric Company, as students, is I think correct. Mr. Edison, however, has nothing to do with the management of the Works, and to gain admission thereto it would be necessary to apply direct. I am under the impression that some knowledge of electricity is necessary in order to obtain the employment that you desire. Yours truly, Private Sec'y.
