October 8, 1892. T. R. Lombard, Esq., Victoria Hotel, Chicago, Illinois. My dear Lombard,- I have received your letter of 5th instant in regard to the progress which you are making with the Chicago Co. and concerning the Chicago Fair. If I had the details of the arrangement which you intend making in regard to the Fair I could probably do something here to assist you, but it appears to me from your letter that the plans have been changed since you arrived in Chicago. I thought the deal was to be based upon a division of profits. You omitted to send me the 2nd page of this letter, which I believe relates to your dealings with the Chicago City Company. You enclosed the 1st and 3rd pages. In the letter you refer to taking up the question of payments with Farwell. If you will explain the matter to me again I will be glad to give you my views. Perhaps it will assist you if I return this communication, so you can see for yourself what portion is missing. I therefore send it herewith. Yours very truly,
