Oct. 24, 1892 Edwin G. Bates, Esq., Treas'r., Bates Manufacturing Company, New York City. Dear Sir:- I have your letter of 22nd instant in regard to the possibility that the rules covering the admission of mechanisms like numbering machines may not permit the Bates Company to occupy space at the World's Fair in conjunction with the Edison Mfg. Co. and the North Am. Phonograph Co. I do not think that this fear is well founded, but I have written to Mr. Lombard asking him to investigate. Yours truly,
