Oct. 31, 1892. Dear Mr. Edison,- The Directors of the Phonograph Works are T. A. Edison. R. L. Cutting Samuel Insull. W. Morton Grinnell A. E. Trombley. The attached letter will show you why I have been unable to have [illegible] of the Directors of the Phono. Wks. to pass upon the bond matter. I will have to get Cutting or Grinnell or Trombley, who with yourself, will make a quorum. I will go on the Board in place of Insull, and then you, Cutting and myself will be a quorum. The interest on the $146,000 worth of bonds which settled the Works’ claim, will be paid to the Edison Phono. Works, but I have signed a check of the Works to your order for the same amount, which they will hand to you. A. O. Tate. M.
