Oct. 31, 1892. Richard N. Dyer, Esq., No. 36 Wall Street, New York City. Dear Sir:- In talking to Mr. Edison the other day I happened to mention that the Toy Company has a chattel mortgage on the doll parts which we have attached at the Works. He does not understand how they got this mortgage, or why they should have any show to make it stick. Will you explain this matter thoroughly to him as soon as possible after receipt of this communication. I am, asking him for advice in regard to a settlement which I have proposed, and this information will assist his judgement. Yours very truly, Private Secretary.
