Thomas Butler, Esq., Treas’r.,
North American Phonograph Co.,
New York City.
Dear Sir:-
I notice a letter from you under date October 31st to the Works in regard to the appearance of machines, and complaining that it can easily be detected that many of the machines that are sent out are not new. There is only one way in which we can overcome this difficulty, and that this by having the parts [illegible]. It is my intention to have this done, because the best machines have been picked out and the majority of those that will be shipped now will bear marks of users. If they are not so treated it will operate against their sale or against our getting regular prices for them.
Yours truly,
Vice-President.
