Nov. 22, 1892.
John Brisbane Walker, Esq., Editor,
The Cosmopolitan Magazine,
New York City.
Dear Sir:-
Referring to your letter to Mr. Edison of 15th instant, I regret to say that he could not be prevailed upon to comply with your request. He is now very busily occupied and has absolutely no time in which he could perform any literary work.
“When I’m all coiled up with rheumatism and can’t work, then I may do such things,” is the way Mr. Edison puts it himself.
Yours truly,
Private Secretary.
