Dear Sir:- 
We enclose herewith a copy of the claim allowed, together with a tracing and drawing, in your application No.297, for Method and Means for Controlling Electrical Generation. The Light Company has been paying for this application, and as the final government fee of $20. Is due at the Patent Office on September 1st, we request that you kindly advise us whether you consider this claim of sufficient value to warrant the payment of this fee. Kindly return the tracing to us when you are through with it.

The combination with a main or consumption circuit of one or more magneto electric machines connected therewith, an exciting machine supplying the field circuit of the main machine or machines, means for varying the speed of the exciting machine, independently of the main machine or machines, and a suitable electrical indicator indicating the condition of the main circuit, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
