Letterhead of Ashurst, Morris, Crisp &Co. 27th May 1892, S.F. Moriarty Esq., Dear Sir, Phonograph Referring to our conversation with you yesterday, we now beg to confirm what we then stated, [---?]:- that Mr. Quilter takes exception to the proposal embodied in our canceled letter to you in three leading respects. First, he objects to giving your Syndicate two thirds of the profits to be derived from the 1500 automobile phonographs but is ready to concede our half. Secondly, he is not prepared that the preliminary syndicate should undertake at first the larger company. They would naturally do so in their own interests if they found time and circumstances propitious, and he considers that you must rest upon the guarantee which self interest will naturally give to this part of the matter. Thirdly, Mr. Quilter desires the price at which the cylinders are to be supplied, to be defined. Yours truly, [Signed] Ashurst Morris Crisp & Co. P.S. Mr. Quilter also raised a further question asks Phonographs being supplied at €16 each equal in amount & the second payment of €10000 but we think there is some misunderstanding on this point
