1st Dec 1892.
Dear Sir,
We find that we [will?] want the following document , [---?]:-
Patent No 15206-1891 [Geo?]: Edward Gouraud. โ€“
Patents No 16480โ€“1888, No 16481-1888, No 8194-1890, James Yale Johnson.
The original Agreement of 6th Han 1886 between Bell [illegible text] & Bell and others โ€“ And Transfer of 11th May 1889 between the parties.
The two original agreements of 11th March 1890, together with the schedules, between Tho A Edison and the Edison Phonograph Co and the International Graphophone Co and the Edison Co.
When we get these we shall we think, have everything that we require for the purpose of making the title to the Patents good.
We yesterday searched at the Patent Office and and find that substantially the registration is clear.
The Edison Patents, with the exception for No 5206 of 1891 have all been duly assigned to and as in the name of the Edison Phonograph Co. The last mentioned Patent is in the name of Col: Gouraud.
All the Bell Patents are requested in the name of the International Graphophone Co. except No. 8197 which is in the name of the Patent Agent, M. Johnson.
When the formal transfers [can be made it will be necessary for the International Graphophone Co. Col: Gouraud and M. Johnson to join in the Deeds. We assume there will be no difficulty in obtaining the executions by these parties.
Yours faithfully,
Bircham & Co.
