Title
[FM001AAU], Letter from Jane Eliza Miller to Mina Miller (Mrs Thomas A.) Edison, December 19th, 1886
Editor's Notes
14-7624. [From Cannes, France] Glad mother spent Thanksgiving with you; she said everything was nice; didn't think I would be in the south of France this winter; don't know what I will do next winter; maybe I should marry Mr. Marvin; have to decide because I'm not treating him right and think everything of him; he would make a devoted husband but in little ways doesn't suit me; wish he was in business for himself; fear he won't be able make me happy by providing kind of home I want; maybe I should stay single till I can marry only for love; wondered why I got no letter from you, but you were busy entertaining Ira & Cora and getting ready for winter; Robert's disappointed you won't be in Florida so he can visit you there; suppose you will go to his wedding; have enjoyed traveling with the Vincents, but Spain was the best part of the trip; Egypt should be pleasant because Father is joining us; a lot of disagreeable talk when the Vincents are with us; go to meet them at Nice tomorrow; we will head to Italy [gives itinerary]; glad everything is well with your housekeeping; will bring home some dresses for you.
