Title
[FT001AAC], Telegram from E De Mayer to Mina Miller (Mrs Thomas A.) Edison, September 1889
Editor's Notes
Note written in French on back of telegram form and attached is an English-language summary [transcribed by TEJ]: This is a letter from the Mother of the French Girl who came back to this country with the Edisons after the Paris Exposition. She was obviously a friend of Marion Edison. This letter asks if the offer of a three month visit in the U.S. was sincere. It seems that the French girl was to teach Mina Edison French. [Handwritten note at bottom:] "Name seems to be E. de Mayery" [actually the name is E. De Mayer; the flourish at the end of the "r" was misread by the translator or secretary as a "y."].
