"Whereas the said Edison has discovered a compound which resembles gold & which may be moulded in ingots, hammered rolle in thin plates & drawn in wires, and which is very light, and whereas the said compound if it can be made cheap and worked convenientlyh will be of great servie in the arts and whereas the said DAvis being connected with the Ansonia Clock co who use a large quantity of brass & other metal which in many cases this compound would or could replace"; TAE to keep as trade secret and not patent, "to continue to experiment with at his own expense to perfect processes for working & cheapening the said compound and the said Davis to render him any requisite assistance; they are to be sole proprieters of the trade secret; DAvis to have it manufactured and the profits to be divided equally; solution is "2 parts of Sulphur 1 part of Sal ammoniac 1 part of In"
