Title
[HM89AAX], Letter from Thomas Bernardr Connery to Thomas Alva Edison, May 10th, 1889
Editor's Notes
Summary: First, Thomas Connery requests that Edison provide him with a letter specifying that the three months given to Connery to fulfill his contractual obligations in Mexico begin when he receives machines from Edison, since the contract does not specify when this period begins. Edison then replies that he is about to send the machines--therefore, the three months referred to commence from the date of his letter. Text: Law Offices of Fox & Preble, 147 Nassau Street, Times Building, Rooms 129 and 130 New York, May 10th 1889, Dear Mr. Edison, We are ready to leave for Mexico, but before starting it seems to us tha we ought to have from you a letter to the effect that the three months prescribed by the contract commences to run from the delivery to us of the machines for Mexico. This is necessary for our associates in Mexico because of the fact that the contract on its face does not state when the three months begin. Yours faithfully, Thomas B Connery P.S: Please let us hear from you early on this point. [Edison's reply is typed]
