- Your favor of the 18th was duly rec'd. When you are in N York again please extend your visit to Menlo Park. after you have seen the process of carbon button manufacture, if you then think the price ($8 per 100) is excessive I will make a reduciton. A carbon button is never broken in a properly constructed transmitter, they will last a century--putting a friable button in a crooked holder made by a botch is a guarantee that they will become broken.
