- Editor's Notes
- Yours of the 3d was duly rec'd. The first steamer on which my system of lighitng was introduced was the S.S. columbia of the Oregon Nav. Co. Since fitting this steamer the system of lighting steamships has been perfected still further. To give you a rough idea as to the cost I will state that the cost of plant will be about $2,800. twenty eight hundred dollars This is the actual cost, a yearly royalty will be required by your company which will be based on the saving to the S.S. Co between the electric system of lighting and lighting by other methods. We guarantee satisfaction & would be pleased to have you and your friends come to Menlo Park on Wednesday or Thursday night of next week. We have 8 miles of lights burning and also light up several houses.
