Editor's Notes

Yours of 8th. I think it would be a good idea to have the Drawings made for the [news] to Holden [a---s]##I will talk to you about yur letter of 9th.##Insull will see Col. [E---] about the Bulbs [answered] in yours of 3rd. Your idea on the subject are altogether wrong.##As to yours of 7th we will continue to make the new form of Brush Holders [arm] as we are now doing as there may be an improvement made that will require the slot & if you do all like it you can easily order Preece to fill in. Moreover we only did it in consequence of the [---] Coys how for a slot in the [----- --]##Soldering washers on the ends of the wires [sentence illegible] the change you suggest for [---] one hole on the tip for [clasping] the wires##As to the fibre washers on the end of the cores it is very seldom that it is necessary to unscrew them. There has been no trouble till lately & we will have the wires tied better so that it will not occur again. Each would cost $500 & I think it can be easily dispensed with##Yours of 13th. Of course we must have a Supt but it is a very delicate matter. Ask Dean about [Rivera] he used to know him. The more [ease] of that chief business you have the less I think of him. He talks too much. Better get him only as trial & you should make very careful inquiries. Of [course] when we start the station [Hood] perhaps another can be spared from 4 p.m. to 7 or 8. p.m. until you have the right man.##Only to you would [---] past] [--].##Yours of 14th.
