Mr. Edison finds that he will be unable to collect the necessary data for his pre-statements in the interference on patent 248,435, before August 5th , and therefore wished me to write requesting you to obtain a postponement of the time of filing for one month if possible. By that time he expects to be able to [prepare] the statements.
