Editor's Notes

I duly received your favour of 24th ult covering a/c for Glasgow Coy advanced Royalty & cheque for $1676.50.##With reference to the item Iodine & mould I fail to see anything different between This & the expenses yoiu had to incur in connection with the floating of the Telephone in England. The terms of my agreement with you are quite clear on this point. You were to pay all expenses in connection with your efforts to form companys and if I admitted the items above referred to it would be quite open for you to claim from me half of the amount you paid while for his services in connection with the formation of the London Company I shall therefore be glad if you will upon receipt of this remit to me [L]787.10 [being] the one half share of your payments to Moore [Stoddard] which you have charged me with.##You state in your letter [--- ---] of course any expenses in connection with these matters have been all [---] I would remind you that my expenses [illegible] been very heavy [illegible]
