- Editor's Notes
- I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your esteemed favor of 10th inst and it is with much regret that I am compelled to decline so great a distinction. Having completed the experiments on my system of Electric Lighting I have removed into New York with the object of personally superintending its development. It is imperative that this should receive my immediate and undivided attention and am therefore reluctnatly obliged to define the very flattering offer you ar so good as to make. I have accordingly telegraphed you to this effect.
