- Editor's Notes
- Your favor of 22nd inst came to hand whilst I was out of town hence delay in answering same.##Your letter appears somewhat curious to me because it is on a subject upon which I obtained my first patent i.e an Electrical Vote Recorder but unfortunately, as usual in such cases the uncipicated occurred and when we tried to get it before the House at Washington every mothers son of them looked virtuously horrified and said it would render minorities powerless and would take away their ability to filibuster the cherished safeguard of the minority against the tyranny of majority and as a consequence my baby was killed immediately.##It is so long since I had anything to do with estimates of the character you refer to that I think you had better apply to C. H Pond of the Pond Indicator Coy Fulton Street who will give you any information you may require on your mentioning my name
