Title
[LB012400], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Drexel Morgan & Co, May 24th, 1882
Editor's Notes
I beg to confirm receipt from you last evening of the following telegram:##Duke cables press generally denouncing large cash payments vendors, [frightened] directors who now insist half proposed cash shall be taken in "A" fully paid, and "B" reduced in nominal amount to fifty thousand pounds but still to have half profits after six on "A." This in order to make total capital not appear too large. Final basis "A" two hundred and fifty thousand "B" fifty thousand. Edison all "B" twenty five thousand "A" twenty five thousand "B" cash unconditional Intrinsic effect change possibly in our favor as "A" may be worth more than cash. If you approve this basis following Board is absolute Marquis Tweeddale, Sir George [-----der' Honorable [Lepacr] [French] (or [French)] late under Secretary State, Henry Schlesinger, late of Naglor Bangand Co and [----] one other beside self." Reply if possible to Fabbri twenty nine West 19th St before ten tonight. Pierpont Morgan cables seen Tweeddale and advises acceptance."##I immediately replied to yur Mr Fabbri's private address as follows##Proposal acceptable to me. Think it better than previous one.
